Leroy Large owns the Auto garage in the centre of Rockard. He’s none too quick but then as the only repair garage in town, he’s none too bothered about being the fastest. Leroy's girlfriend is called Ebony Umin usually takes the bookings and answers the phone, she has a love for all things reptilian and her prize asset was a King Cobra called Ramesis.That morning she was on the phone to her brother when she failed to notice the now empty large glass tank with her pet snake missing.
As well as fixing the cars Leroy had a small man called Jose from Brazil work for him polishing up the paintwork of freshly sprayed cars.
Unfortunately Ebony was quite the jealous type and was always accusing him of fooling around with other women. But this particular time he really didn’t deserve it.
It was a very hot September day when I had to come to Leroy’s rescue. I pulled in to the Auto repair shop about mid day to get my tyres checked when Leroy asked me if I knew anything about bushes as Lucy Nicks seemed to have a problem with her little Morris Minor and asked me to have a feel around. Leroy went over to Jose but as he walked past the airline his trousers snagged on the hook ripping the button off, with the weight of a few spanners shoved in his pockets it made him hit the floor quicker than a lead weight. A woman passing by saw something and suddenly screamed out.
Ebony heard a scream and looked
out of the window and shouted “Leroy what you doin?”
When Leroy replied. “ I was admiring Jose Pipes Brazilian wax and
finish on Martha’s Beatle bonnet when this woman shouted, Leroy your
Alabama black snake is out, So I turned around, saw your brother and shouted
Isaac Umin stand back…
